Hardware is only half of a fleet tracking rollout. We install the gateways and cameras clean, then build out the dashboard, geofences, and driver assignments so the office is actually using it the week it goes in.
What we handle on a fleet rollout
Vehicle gateway installation
The gateway ties into the diagnostic port or hard wires depending on the vehicle. Either way it gets secured and routed out of sight so a driver cannot knee it loose and nobody can unplug it to go dark for an afternoon.
Dash cam installation
Forward facing or dual facing cameras mounted high behind the mirror where they do not block the driver's view. Wiring runs behind the headliner and down the pillar, not stuck to the glass with adhesive clips.
Dashboard setup
Vehicles named the way your office refers to them, users invited with the right permission levels, and the reports you actually care about pinned to the front page.
Geofencing
Geofences around your yard, your shop, and the sites you hit regularly, so arrival and departure times log themselves instead of getting guessed at on a timesheet.
Driver assignment
Driver profiles and assignment rules set up so trip history attaches to a person, not just a truck. Useful for coaching, and useful when a customer calls to argue about what time you showed up.
Scheduling around downtime
We work early mornings, evenings, and Saturdays at your yard so your trucks are on the road during business hours. Batches of four to six vehicles at a time keeps the disruption near zero.
Fleets of two trucks and fleets of eighty
Plenty of installers want a minimum vehicle count before they will show up. We do not work that way. A plumbing outfit with two vans gets the same install quality as a dirt contractor with sixty pieces of rolling equipment, and both get the dashboard configured rather than handed over blank.
For larger fleets we plan the rollout around your schedule. Trucks that sit on Fridays get done Friday. Trucks that only come back to the yard on Saturday morning get done Saturday morning. We batch it so nothing sits waiting on us.
Most owners tell us the payback shows up in two places first: fuel and idle time they did not know they were burning, and the ability to answer a customer dispute with a timestamp instead of an argument.
A lot of fleet customers also have us cover the yard with security cameras while we are there.
Fleet install questions
- How long per vehicle?
- A gateway only install is usually thirty to forty five minutes. Add a dash cam and you are looking at an hour to ninety minutes, since the camera wire gets tucked behind trim instead of taped to the windshield. Box trucks and anything with an aftermarket upfit take longer, and we will say so up front.
- Do you set up the software too?
- Yes, and that is the part most installers skip. We build out your vehicle list with real names instead of VINs, set up driver assignments, draw the geofences for your yard and your regular job sites, configure the alerts you asked for, and then sit down with whoever runs dispatch until they can use it without a manual.
- What size fleets do you work with?
- Two trucks to around a hundred. Small fleets we usually knock out in a single visit. Larger ones we split into batches so you never have more than a few vehicles out of service at a time.
